At times Apple will reply to the developer account request and require that they speak directly with the merchant by phone. In these situations, the following message has been given to merchants and has been successful.
“Apple is requiring that they speak with you directly by phone. From my experience, these calls have been rather quick and painless and are just another form of identity verification. Apple may ask you at the end of the call to login to your account to follow next steps. Simply tell them that you only want to resolve whatever they need over the phone and that after the call you will continue working with your App developer to complete what is needed inside of the account online.
Please provide me with a day and time you will be available for Apple to call you (anytime M-F 9am-4pm), and which number you’d like them to call. They will call you pretty much right on the dot.
Please also note that now that Apple has received your developer account request, all tasks are now very time sensitive. If too much time goes by without Apple making contact with you and completing these next steps, they will cancel your entire enrollment and we will need to start over from the very beginning.
If needed, here is your Apple ID: [paste here]”
When your client gives you the chosen time for the phone call, that will need communicated to Carleen as she is the one who submits the actual request to Apple. Please follow up very shortly after the time of the call to make sure the merchant did in fact speak with them and that all is resolved and ready for next steps. Carleen can also check the merchant’s Yahoo account as Apple also will leave a follow up email either stating that they couldn’t reach the merchant and to submit another call request, or acknowledgment of a successful call and next steps.
