Converting Subscribers from “Business A” to “Business B”
If you have a merchant that is closing an account or location and wishing to transfer email subscribers to another account or location, please use the below procedure or verbiage.
TEMPLATE FOR MERCHANTS:
If you would like to move the email addresses from BUSINESS A’s email program to BUSINES B’s email program, we would advise that you send a series of email campaigns out to BUSINESS A’s subscribers to gain “opt ins” to BUSINESS B’s email program. We could send an email campaign letting those subscribers know that you will be closing the BUSINESS A business/location, and giving the subscribers an opportunity to sign up for BUSINESS B’s email program. We can then take the subscribers from BUSINESS A that opted in to BUSINESS B’s email program, and import them into BUSINESS B’s email program.
When you cancel BUSINES A’s email program, we will send you a list of merchant owned email subscribers. You do have the option of sending us back that list to import into BUSINES B’s email program (through our merchant supplied email list form – attach here). On that form you would need to sign off that the emails are customer approved to be imported into BUSINESS B’s email program. However, we would advise against importing BUSINESS A subscribers into BUSINESS B’s email program if the customers have not voluntarily opted in. The reason we advise against this is due to the risk involved. If you would send BUSINESS B email campaigns to BUSINESS A’s database without customer approval, you could potentially see a high unsubscribe rate which could potentially suspend your BUSINESS B email program for an unknown amount of time.
