APP: How to Schedule a Push Message for a Different Time Zone
The MERCHANT chooses their actual time, but we might choose a different time, if we are not in their time-zone.
Example:
- If a client in CA wants the push to go out at 10am their time, they schedule it for 10am THEIR time.)
- If WE are sending the push, we must adjust the time based on our time difference. (So, if a client in CA wants it to go out at 10am their time, WE schedule it for 1pm OUR time.)
WHY? Because the system will read the time on the device you are using. We are 3 hours earlier then California, so we need to schedule a push for 3 hours later, adjusting for EST.
When doing CMS training with or clients, we tell them they can pre-schedule a push message based on their local time. But here in-house, we must remember that if we do it on their behalf, we need to do a little math and figure out the time difference.
